On Thursday the 22nd of November all Year 9 students participated in an interactive event on Information Communication Technology (ICT). The event was held in the Science facility at Echuca College. The Year Ten Beacon Leaders did a great job assisting with the running of the day. The keynote speaker was David Joss, CEO of Community Telco Australia. David spoke to the students about the changing nature of ICT and the way business will be conducted in the future. Students rotated around four different workshops for the day. The workshops were interactive and included; robotics, drones and their future applications, Kagome Australia and the technology used in the manufacture of food products. Travis Morris a former student ran a workshop on the technology he uses while studying Film and Digital Media at Deakin University. The Chaplaincy Committee did an excellent job catering for the students and presenters on the day.

A highlight of the day was the fantastic prizes that were won by the students. The winners were;

I-Pod Shuffle— Chloe Carr, Taylah Nevett, Jess Grundy, Darcy Scown, Scott O’Connell

I-Pod Touch—Kaneesha Hearn, Taylah Hamilton

The main prize an I-PAD was won by Walter Ash.

The day was sponsored by Innovation & Technology Capabilities Department of Business and Innovation. The feedback from the day was fantastic with a lot of students commenting on the great day they had experienced.
