Looking across the courts the dark looming silhouette of Bendigo South East was daunting.  The boys were big … much bigger than we were. However, as the clouds cleared the boys took to the court for what was to be an exciting game. In the first half shooters, Mitchell Berg and Keadin Ronnan struggled to gain possession of the ball. The mid court efforts of AJ Mills, Ben Dixon and Caleb Mills were fuelled by the effort in defence of Mason Jennings-Case. The second quarter was a bit of a disaster, with the boys losing their momentum.

The second half saw some positional changes that made a big difference to the flow of the ball down the court. Luke Edwards was rebounding well, Berg was opening up the defence and Gilbert Labinas moved the ball steadily down to the attack end. The Mills brothers and Jennings-Case continued to move the ball in attack, where Ronnin was able to convert.

An exciting game, but a bit of an eye opener, for our boys who will begin preseason tomorrow in preparation for their comeback next year.

Best on: AJ Mills
