After a victorious round at the Campaspe Netball the Yr 7 girls were ready to step up to the next challenge and play some serious netball. In the first game defence was strong, with some great intercepts and rebounds taken by Kasey Conder and Megan Portwine. The mid court was led by Lily Hindson and Charli Greiner who worked hard to feed the attackers. After a slow start the girls began to come back, playing the way they should have from the start. The final score was a draw.

The second game… enough said. L

The third game saw the girls reenergised and ready to play some serious netball. A few position swaps, saw Hayley Campbell and Courtney Thompson dominate in the goal circle; ably fed by Hindson and Greiner. Rhiannon McGrath played a defensive midcourt, making it difficult for the opposition to get the ball to their ring. The girls came away victorious.

The final game of the day saw the girls step up and play the netball they are capable, despite a challenging lack of sportsmanship from their opponents. Kelsea Gordon was on fire, hitting the long bombs. Although the girls came away a little battered and bruised it was an easy win.

Overall there was some great netball played, with all the girls contributing to a great day. I look forward to continue working with the girls in the future. Thanks to assistant coach, Tyanah Case and the parents who came to support. The girls finished equal second and should be proud of their achievements.

Best on: Lily Hindson
