Hi ho! Hi ho! It’s off to Melbourne we go! And what an early start it was – all students were sleepy-eyed when the bus pulled away at 6am. A quick coffee/breakfast stop soon perked everyone up and not long after we arrived at our first destination – the Shrine of Remembrance. The students had many questions and enjoyed the informative session. From here we had a lunch break and a quick shop, before travelling down the road for a tour of Deakin University in Geelong. The students found this insightful and it gave a few students an opportunity to see what their lives may look like in the not so distant future. The highlight of this tour was the light show in the High Voltage lab! Dinner that night was on Lygon St, where lots of pizza, pasta and gelato was consumed. The next day we attended the VCE & Careers Expo, which opened the eyes of many students to university and non-university options for their post-school journey. It was a quiet bus ride home, with many students enjoying a sleep after a very enjoyable time away from the books, knowing they would be back into it tomorrow.
