A visit to the Werribee Zoo was a great opportunity for year 7 students to learn more about the animal kingdom, how animals can be grouped and where thy fit into the food web.

Students took part in lessons, examining different animal skulls and holding a snake. A highlight was a safari tour around the open plain zoo where they could have close up encounters with rhinos, giraffes and ostriches among other African animals.

Time to explore the rest of the zoo in small groups ensured students were able to find their favourite animals and also to interact with students from other schools.
