The VET Building and Construction class recently completed a series of practical lessons in the construction of a full-hipped roof structure. Students, through the guidance of Dan Davidson and Clint Edwards, incorporated hip and creeper rafters into a full-size scale roofing model. Students were required to comply with national building standards and specification in the roofing industry. The full-size scale of the model also allowed students to gain relevant, real-world practical skills and experience in the building industry.
