The Year 10 Creative Cooking students had a Mystery Box Challenge today where they had to design a main meal from a selection of items leftover in the cool room, freezer and pantry, plus a range of general pantry items. They had 10 minutes to find a recipe, then the rest of the session to cook and present their meals. They all did a fantastic job of producing a very creative and nutritious meal from leftovers. We had chicken parmigiana, roast tomato pasta sauce, chicken stir fry, spaghetti bolognese, panfried prawns with sweet potato and snap peas, beef stir fry and chicken meatballs. They learnt about making use of leftover food in the Food Waste and Sustainability issues topic.
