On Friday 27th May, Echuca College took two teams down to the Castlemaine Gaol to participate in the Mt Alexander Chess Challenge. The Echuca College A team (Neal Rivera, Jacob Baldock, Mitchell Chapman, Harley Parks and Gabriel Gallimore) Won 5 games, tied 1 and lost 1 game to claim first place in Division 1. This is an outstanding achievement and our Chess Club should be very proud of all players. The Echuca College B team (Caleb Millen, Patrick Kervin, Jack Creed and Thomas Draicchio) Despite playing 1 player down managed to win 3 games, tie 1 and lose 3 games. This is a great effort from a team comprised of all Year 7 students. Neal Rivera also received a certificate for winning all of his 7 games (only 4 others managed to achieve this).
