Congratulations to the Beacon Foundation and Mrs Dehne for yet another successful ‘Mock Interviews’ program held at the College this week. Mock interviews give our young people a chance to discuss their career options with members of the business community, while experiencing a job interview. There was an impressive range of interviewers and their feedback has been meaningful and honest, reflecting the importance placed on this program by students, teachers and local employers. Our Beacon Co-coordinator, Mrs Dehne, will be handing feedback sheets to students so the whole process can be reviewed. The core components of the Mock Interview program are: confidence, employer expectations, personal presentation, manners and etiquette and communication. Students in Year 10 will now have a template for writing a job application and preparing a resume that they will be able to use in the future. We truly appreciate the support of local companies and businesses who donate their time to support our students. Thank you the following people and organisations; Babsita Tubbergh – GM Water, Tegan Mills – KVM, Anne Peace – Rotary, Kaye Mason, Jan Shellew, Rick Keen, Belinda Owen, Suzanna Gorman and Meryl Brown – Shire of Campaspe, Mandy Zanker – Murray Human Services, Anne Trickey – CCLLEN. Well done to all involved and a special thank you to our local employers/businesses for their support.
