Thursday 19th May, a fresh south westerly blowing across the soccer pitches at Moama and the Intermediate and Senior Boys Soccer Teams arrive ready for action.
The Inter Boys led very capably by James Whitehead and Trent Williams began with great voracity and soon we were carving out chance after chance against Kyabram. Terrific Tommy Harris and Mighty Mitch Lake managed to find the back of the net and we were off to a flying start. Unfortunately the other matches did not quite go according to script and we were beaten on the day. There were great contributions from many players, especially Ryan More; Trent Campbell; James Whithead; Tom Harris and Mitch Lake.
MVP = Ryan More & Trent Campbell
The Senior Boys enjoyed respectable success in their matches winning their Division on the day comfortably in the end with 2 wins and a draw which we dominated and suffered a ‘saved pen’.
The other games witnessed some pleasing forward moves and threaded passes although, had we taken all our chances double figures would have been possible. Biggest contributors on the day were Lachie Arkinstall; James Brown; Cooper Arkinstall and Connor Brown with some dazzling, if not always productive, footwork from Fletcher Kelly. Jason Hanson was solid in defence. Monday in Bendigo will be a much sterner test!
