Year 12 Jed Polomka competes in the B Lites class and is currently sitting inside the top ten in his debut season: “The season has been pretty good. I was hoping for a top ten finish in the Victorian Senior Motocross Championships in my first year,” Jed said. Jed competed at the Honda Genuine Parts and Accessories 2016 Victorian Senior Motorcross Championships Presented by Bridgestone at Chisholm Park Reserve and cemented his place in the top ten finishing 7th overall.
“I started off the season outside the top ten. I realised what I had to do to progress so I made some improvements to the bike and started getting fifth-place finishes and now I’m sitting in the top ten overall at the moment which I’m pretty happy with,” Jed added.
Top 10 riders of the state represent their sponsors at the nationals each year. Jed is sponsored by KTM Australia, Fox Australia, Motorex, Oakley Australia, Moss Institute Training Facility, AJs Motorcycles and Willmax Graphics.
Jed is also leading the northern series for the entire top half of the state in his class which is B lites, racing a KTM 250 4 stroke. The northern series consists of 7 rounds and Jed has led the series to date with 3 rounds to go. He has raced at Cobram, GV and Albury-Wodonga so far with Toolleen, Swan Hill and Seymour to go.
Jed also plans on competing in Round 8 of the 2016 Motul MX Nationals in Shepparton on Sunday, July 31. “I’d like to get a bit of experience under my belt, and next year just jump right into it; finish Year 12 and start racing full-time,” he said. Jed would like to thank his parents and Steven Jones at AJ’s Motorcycles for all their help throughout the season.
