Jack Wilson a former Echuca College student came back to the College on Tuesday 1st May to talk to the year 12 PE class and sport scholarship students about his journey to becoming a professional golfer. Jack is now playing on the PGA Australasian Tour and is in his 6th year of a scholarship with the Victorian Institute of Sport. Jack has had some great success and played alongside some of the best golfers in the world including Adam Scott but it has not all come easily and he has worked incredibly hard and overcome challenges such as major wrist surgery to get where he is today. The students were amazed at Jack’s professionalism and what it took to keep his body in the best shape possible to compete at the highest level. Jack also gave an insight into the biomechanics technology that has helped create a more efficient swing and reduce his risk of injury that will help our PE students in the upcoming curriculum. Jack was flying out Wednesday to Perth for a tournament before heading to India, China and Thailand it quick succession. We wish him all the best as he continues his quest to reach the top of his sport and thank Jack for taking the time out of his busy schedule to chat with us.
