On Friday October 14, Echuca College’s Intermediate cricket team travelled to Nathalia. Our first game was against St Mary’s Nathalia. We batted first and lost regular wickets throughout the innings. A slow and methodical Tyson McCoomb and Jack Steel steadied the ship, before late runs from James Whitehead helped post a handy total. Our bowling effort started well, but too many wides and missed catches allowed SMOTA to win comfortably. In the second game we started much better, with Ryan More finding the boundary regularly. Trent Campbell was the pick of the batsmen, scoring 45 runs. Another solid bowling performance followed, with some good captaincy from Tom Harris in his field placement, but unfortunately Echuca College would lose a close game. MVP: James Whitehead.
