Congratulations to all the girls who competed in our inaugural Girls Football inter-house competition. The first game saw the Moira Murray Crays crush the Perricoota Perentes in a dominate display of skills and scoring ability. Round two was between the Kanyapella Kingfishers and the Wharparilla Wallabies, despite trying conditions and a heavy field, the Kanyapella Kingfishers through the scoring talent and persistence of Holly Davidson ran out winners.
The grand final between the Moira Murray Crays and the Kanyapella Kingfishers was a tightly fought match, with a great display of skills. Erin Blancford kicked a marvellous goal for Moira demonstrating great ball skills and speed. Kanyapella took the early lead with a couple of quick goals but with the change of ends and the advantage of the breeze Moira took the lead. Holly Davidson and Rebecca Kennedy were strong for Kanyapella but the combination of Kara Vanderlinde, Erin Blachford, Sarah Taylor and Jacqui Taylor proved too strong. The Moira Murray Crays ran away convincing winners 24 points to 14 points. Best on ground for the grand final was awarded to Erin Blachford.
