Year 11 students were involved in the Fit 2 Drive program, which focuses on empowering students to change their attitudes and behaviours when they are involved in risky driving situations, either as a passenger or as the driver. Throughout the day students listened to a variety of speakers, all of whom have been personally affected by road trauma, received information from Victoria Police about driving rules (including information for NSW drivers) and participated in a range of workshops where they shared ideas and rehearsed situations involving risky driving behaviour. At the end of the day, the students came up with ideas on how to increase awareness within the school and their own peer groups on safe driving practices.
Student feedback indicated that the Fit2Drive presentations was one of the best presentations of the year.
