On Tuesday Zander Graham, Dylan Verhey, Jack Creed and Todd Langborne attended the EMPOWERME program run by volunteers from Lord Somers Camp and Powerhouse. The day included schools from the Shepparton and Bendigo regions and focused on key aspects relating to self-development, personal reflection and realising potential. Throughout the day the students heard from guest speakers and participated in small group discussions and lots of fun activities. The aim of the day was to encourage students to identify their strengths, challenge their thinking, and work out what direction they wanted to go in and provide them with tools they can use to get there. It was great to hear the Echuca College students recounting their enthusiasm for the activities, the making of new friends and their appreciation of the effort the volunteers put into running the activities. They all enjoyed the day so much they purchased EMPOWERME beanies!
