The first Echuca College Wellbeing Focus Day will be held on the 16th of June. The aims of the focus day are to promote positive mental health and wellbeing for everyone and to promote positive relationships and interactions within the College community. We also aim to have some FUN!! Lots of House points will be up for grabs throughout the day.
We have Ben O’Toole as our keynote speaker to begin the day, he will speak about the consequences of coward punches and the impacts they have on individuals and the broader community. We then move into a variety of workshops to hear some amazing stories of people overcoming adversity and rising above to become successful.
There will be free fruit, yoghurt and water in the Piazza at recess before we begin our wellbeing workshops. These workshops have been designed as activities we could all do at home to relieve stress or anxiety. Students have the opportunity to sign up for one of these activities.
Next we all move to the stadium to enjoy the Echuca College Showcase, a display of the many talented students at Echuca College.
During our lunch break there will be a number of food vans and activities for students and staff to enjoy. We have human soccer, snookball, “Dunk the Teacher/Principal”, Laser Tag and sumo suits as well as a number of other activities happening in the Piazza. The art department will be busy with an art show where students can vote for their favourite piece of art and a living mural will be developing during lunch with all our community asked to participate and contribute to the mural.
After lunch cheer on your favourite team in the Human Soccer competition that will finish with a Year 12 vs the teachers game.
The grand finale for the day will be a colour run!!! The Colour run will launch our campaign for Relay for life, Echuca College will be entering teams in this event to support this great event and compete for the Tony Spizzica schools trophy.
