Last year a group of students attended the Shire of Campaspe leadership day and developed two community projects. The first was the ‘Express Yourself Youth Festival’ which aimed to provide an opportunity for art and music students in Echuca and surrounds to showcase their talents. It also provided an opportunity for local teenagers to come together, listen to music and take part in some fun activities. The day saw 12 leadership students gain invaluable skills, 47 art students’ show case their work, 26 young musicians perform and 150 other young people attended. The event raised 3 thousand dollars for a garden project at the Echuca Hospital. The second project provided Glanville Village with a large arbour garden seat (that was designed and construct by Design Technology students) and a donation of $2800 to purchase new elements for a shared family garden space for the residents. Some Glanville staff and residents provided an afternoon tea for the students and it was fantastic to see the excitement of the garden possibilities. Thank you to amazing community groups who are always there to help CCLLEN, Lions Club and Campaspe shire, as well as the numerous local business who were so generous and supportive during the projects. Well done to the following students for all their hard work: Luke Judd, Bonny Fraser, Jessica Muir, Jessica Wills, Jacob Baldock, Reece Campbell, Tom Harris, William Warren, Joel McInnes, Jay Davidson, Joshua Phyland and William Johnson.
