Echuca College won all 4 sections of the junior Inter-school Campaspe badminton competition on Thursday (Year 7 and 8 Girls and Boys). With the renewed stadium proving to be an excellent training facility, the Echuca College students demonstrated pin point placement, team work and an attacking approach to every game. All schools demonstrated great enthusiasm and sportsmanship which made for a very exciting and fun day for all participants. The Year 7 (Georgia May MVP, Courtney Thompson, Kallahrney Turner, Bridie Wren, Georgina Datiles) and 8 (Jackie Taylor, Annastasia Gadsen MVP, Joni Grundi, Brooke South, Chloe Scown) Echuca College girls won comfortably against Nathalia, Kyabram and St Augustines. The two year 7 boys teams (Tom Whitehead MVP, Rory Van de zand, Gabriel Gallimore, Brodie Lodyfound, Jake Rawe, Jake Cardilini, Thomas Draicchio, Zac Ross) themselves playing off for first place, with Team 1 only just winning the sets by a narrow margin. The Year 8 boys (Rylea Jones, Laurence Pontejos, Luke Johnston, Gilbert Labinas, Aiden Mills, Caleb Mills) fought hard to defeat Nathalia Secondary College by ONE point after a count back.
